“Carlos made this experience informative and fun. We all loved trying out the true cultural dishes of Scotland. One member of our party had an allergy to two items for which Carlos did an excellent job of arranging alternative delicious food items that fit the restrictions. All of us would order each of the items in a restaurant that we tried today. Thank you Carlos!!!”

The 10 Tastings of Edinburgh With Locals: Private Food Tour

The 10 Tastings of Edinburgh With Locals: Private Food Tour - John Knox House Museum: a 30-minute pause that actually helps

9.The 10 Tastings of Edinburgh With Locals: Private Food Tour

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 71 reviews · 3 hours (approx.) · from $187

Private Edinburgh food tour with 10 tastings, whisky and haggis, plus Royal Mile history stops at John Knox House and Lady Stairs Close.

“Our guide, Alec, was fantastic—a born story teller with a tremendous love for Scottish history —we were captivated as we wandered around the Royal Mile and its many historic sites. We learned so much and it was such fun. Unknown to Alec, however, this tour is described as 10 tastings of Edinburgh—but there were actually only three. For sure, though, you’ll love haggis by the time you finish, if not the “fish and chips” —actually fried, stuffed pizza at one apparently popular eatery, judging by the long lines. All things said, this tour was still a highlight for us, despite the crowds from Fringe.”

“We were met by a lovely young man called Noam who advised us we were the only guests on this tour. At first we thought this might be awkward but we could not have been further from the truth. He was very engaging and we found his company very pleasant. He was very knowledgeable on the food we were served which was of excellent quality. He knew the history and he had considerable knowledge of Edinburgh in general and we found conversation very easy and fun. We would have no hesitation in recommending this tour to friends and family. Thank you Noam for making it a pleasant experience..”
